From contemporary Japanese cuisine and binchotan-grilled Wagyu to thoughtfully curated sake experiences, TANOKE brings together the Joy of Food & Sake through warm hospitality and attentive service.

With expansion plans in the pipeline, we are looking to grow our Restaurant Operations team. CURRENT OPPORTUNITIES

MANAGEMENT TRAINEE – RESTAURANT OPERATIONS

Salary: $2,800–$3,200 per month
Employment Type: Full-time

This position is suitable for individuals who want to build a long-term career in restaurant operations and management.

 

As a Management Trainee, you will receive hands-on exposure to different aspects of restaurant operations. You will learn TANOKE’s service standards, menu and sake offerings while gradually taking on greater operational and leadership responsibilities.

 

Prior management experience is not required. However, previous experience in hospitality, restaurants or customer service would be an advantage.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Support the team in the restaurant’s daily operations

  • Welcome guests and deliver attentive, professional service

  • Learn TANOKE’s menu, sake offerings and service standards

  • Assist with reservations, table arrangements and guest requests

  • Support private events, corporate bookings and group reservations

  • Learn opening, closing and cash-handling procedures

  • Assist with stocktaking and inventory control

  • Support administrative work and operational reporting

  • Assist with updating menus and event materials using Canva

  • Work closely with the kitchen and service teams

  • Identify operational needs and take the initiative to assist

  • Undergo training in team supervision, roster planning and restaurant management

 

REQUIREMENTS

  • Proficient in spoken and written English, as the role requires regular communication with guests, team members and corporate clients

  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel

  • Positive attitude and willingness to learn

  • Proactive, responsible and attentive to detail

  • Good communication and interpersonal skills

  • Comfortable working split shifts, evenings, weekends and public holidays

  • Able to support extended working hours during peak periods and private events

  • Immediate availability is preferred

WORKING ARRANGEMENTS

Our Restaurant Operations team works a minimum of 44 hours per week based on a rostered schedule. These positions involve split shifts and working during evenings, weekends and public holidays. Team members may occasionally be required to work extended hours during peak periods, private events and special operations.

Only Singapore Citizens and Singapore Permanent Residents will be considered.

ASSISTANT RESTAURANT MANAGER

Salary: $3,200–$3,800 per month
Employment Type: Full-time

We are seeking an experienced Assistant Restaurant Manager to support the management of TANOKE’s daily operations, lead the service team and consistently deliver excellent guest experiences.

 

The ideal candidate is proactive, hands-on and able to identify and resolve operational issues without waiting for constant instruction.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist in overseeing daily front-of-house operations

  • Lead the service team and maintain consistent service standards

  • Assist with staff scheduling, deployment and roster planning

  • Train, guide and motivate team members

  • Manage reservations, table arrangements and guest requests

  • Coordinate private events, corporate bookings and special occasions

  • Handle guest feedback and service recovery professionally

  • Monitor inventory, stock levels and ordering

  • Oversee opening, closing and cash-handling procedures

  • Prepare operational reports, spreadsheets and administrative documents

  • Assist with updating menus and event materials using Canva

  • Maintain restaurant cleanliness, safety and regulatory compliance

  • Communicate closely with the kitchen and management teams

  • Identify operational issues and recommend practical improvements

  • Support the Restaurant Manager in achieving operational and financial targets

REQUIREMENTS

  • At least 2 years of relevant restaurant operations and supervisory experience

  • Proven ability to guide and motivate a service team

  • Proficient in spoken and written English, as the role requires regular communication with guests, team members and corporate clients

  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel 

  • Proactive and able to work independently

  • Positive mindset and professional attitude

  • Strong communication, organisation and problem-solving skills

  • Able to remain composed and solutions-focused during busy service periods

  • Comfortable working split shifts, evenings, weekends and public holidays

RESTAURANT MANAGER

Salary: $3,800–$4,200 per month
Employment Type: Full-time

 

We are seeking a hands-on Restaurant Manager who can lead our service team, oversee daily operations and contribute to TANOKE’s financial planning and performance.

 

The successful candidate should combine strong hospitality and leadership skills with a sound understanding of restaurant budgeting, cost control and operational planning.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Take responsibility for the restaurant’s daily front-of-house operations

  • Lead, train and motivate the service team

  • Plan staff rosters, deployment and manpower requirements

  • Maintain consistent service and guest-experience standards

  • Oversee reservations, table arrangements and guest requests

  • Coordinate private events, corporate bookings and special occasions

  • Handle guest feedback and service recovery professionally

  • Manage inventory, stocktaking, ordering and cost control

  • Oversee opening, closing and cash-management procedures

  • Participate in the preparation of operational budgets and financial forecasts

  • Monitor revenue, labour costs, beverage costs and other operating expenses against budget

  • Review sales and operational performance and recommend ways to improve revenue, productivity and profitability

  • Assist senior management in setting sales targets and controlling expenditure

  • Prepare regular operational and financial reports using Microsoft Excel

  • Update menus and event materials using Canva when required

  • Ensure compliance with cleanliness, safety and regulatory requirements

  • Work closely with the kitchen and senior management teams

  • Identify operational challenges and implement practical improvements

  • Take initiative and make sound operational decisions without requiring constant direction

REQUIREMENTS

  • At least 3 years of relevant restaurant operations and management experience

  • Proven experience leading and developing a service team

  • Experience with budgeting, cost control and operational reporting

  • Good understanding of restaurant revenue, labour costs and operating expenses
